here's an interesting shot of a corner of the new sports basement on bryant near 16th street..

we were there last week buying stuff for this past sunday's treasure island international triathlon.. .. that's me coming up on the finish line, can you believe it?! the triathlon, well, it was a biathlon ultimately, because the swimming part was cancelled. because last wednesday, a ship crashed into the bay bridge and spilled 58,000 gallons of oil within spitting distance of pirate's cove, treasure island, where we were supposed to swim! so we just biked and ran. it was fun. i placed 18th out of the 32 women in my age group (the 35-39 age group). now i'm psyched enough to buy a real road bike soon. for the race on sunday i used my city bike, which slowed me down a bunch. well, that was the last triathlon of the season so there's plenty of time to get ready for something in the spring. i needed a new hobby like i needed a new hole in my head, but i think this one just replaces some others that i have OhDeed on of late. well, we'll see, we'll see.

i want them badly but alas, i am saving up for a new bike. maybe you can get them for me for christmas! i am a size 7. they are at shoe pavilion.
